he Utah Association of Community Services (UACS) is an organization of 40 private agencies/business that assist people with disabilities throughout Utah. The majority of our members were started over 25 years ago by families with loved ones with disabilities and several still remain within school districts. Provider members are licensed, qualified agencies that contract with the Department of Human Services, primarily the Division of Services to People with Disabilities, the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation and Work Force Services to assist individuals living in their homes and communities through quality services including residential, day training, supported employment, family support, and respite care.
Each year UACS providers serves over 5,000 people with developmental and other types of disabilities in over 400 sites throughout the state of Utah. As an organization, the Utah Association of Community Services (UACS) supports its members through training, technical assistance, and peer review to ensure a standard of quality services. All members of Utah Association of Community Services are highly qualified, caring, and respected individuals in their field. Each provider organization is managed and structured differently, and each is able to offer its own variety and style of services. One of the many strengths is that you as individuals and families have an array of choices in the various approaches, values, philosophies, and services among different member organizations to best meet your own needs.
As provider members of the Association we want to ensure that the individuals we serve have choices to a good match. We feel it is important that individuals and their families learn about and explore all the possibilities as you select your services and a provider. The Utah Association of Community Services welcomes you to our web site and hopes that this guide will be a helpful resource to assist you in finding a provider whose philosophy and service reflects your own.
